Cari Faye Antonovich

has spent two decades transforming self-portraiture into a larger practice of photography, cyanotypes, and painting. Her work, shaped by music, surrealism, and the wide open landscapes of the American West, is cinematic, haunting, and human. 

What began as a way to learn the camera at fifteen has become a lifelong record of self and story. Cari’s photographs often blur the lines between autobiography and invention, exploring the tension between what is seen and what is felt. Her cyanotypes and mixed-media pieces expand that vision, turning light, time, and memory into physical objects.

Portrait clients seek her out for the same reason collectors do—for images that hold atmosphere, resonance, and a sense of narrative. Cari’s work has been exhibited nationally, recognized through multiple grants and awards, and continues to evolve within her ongoing series Imaginarium, a lifetime archive of self-portraits that traces the art of becoming.
